SynopsisAmid a torrid August in Salento, a young woman awakens to the chirping of cicadas. She emerges from the earth, the very same ground that swallowed her a century ago when she was a ‘tarantata’ As she wanders through the waste and parched city, she encounters what seem to be present-day ghosts and stumbles upon the commodification of the ancient tarantism ritual, now turned into a public display of what was once her, and many others, a deeply personal pain.
